Zero-interest option
0% HEAT Loan Financing for Lynnfield Homes
If National Grid or Eversource delivers your gas, the HEAT Loan may cover heat pumps and weatherization at 0% interest, and we guide each step.
Your Gas Bill May Be the Key
The Mass Save HEAT Loan offers 0% interest, up to $25,000, from participating banks and credit unions toward heat pumps, weatherization and certain other energy upgrades. One requirement is a Mass Save utility account. In a light plant town that detail matters, since the electric account belongs to the light plant rather than a Mass Save company. For many households the opening is natural gas. Where National Grid or Eversource supplies the gas, that account may make the home eligible even though electricity comes from the light plant. Houses heated only by oil or electricity, with no Mass Save gas account, generally will not qualify, and you will hear that on the first call rather than three weeks into the process. When the loan does apply, things happen in a fixed sequence. A written contractor proposal. An authorization form. A loan application with a participating lender, which alone decides approval. The installation. Then an inspection once work is complete. We prepare the proposal and authorization paperwork, help you pull together the lender's requests, and schedule work around program timing. Repayment length, what each bill would be, approval chances: none of that comes from us, since the lender owns it. Getting the paperwork right is ours, and we take it seriously.
